Crazy what they are all got from the Tufts cross examination. Restlessness in the lower body, tremors, hygiene, psychomotor agitation, akathesia, just to name a few. Oh yea, tufts said LC had pressured speech. That’s a symptom of mania or hypomania. Tufts couldn’t handle LC. Sorry she’s having to do this and I don’t think she intended this to happen or is a bad person but LC needed experienced psychiatrists. LC was difficult and it probably was because she was in a severe mental health crisis. I actually don’t think there could have been anyone within LCs reach that could have handled her case. For that, I don’t think any provider should be held accountable. We will see though as the case unfolds.

I think it's more complicated than just believing women no matter what. In the last ten years or so there has been this weird movement to empathize with the "bad guys". Thieves are just poor and hungry and trying to feed their families; addicts have a "disease"; rapists and pedophiles are victims of childhood sexual abuse, and so on. Even entertainment is doing that, making movies and TV shows around villains and painting them as victims of their circumstances, forcing audiences to empathize and see them as victims and excuse their terrible behavior. All this toxic empathy bullshit has rotted these idiots' brains.
It gives a reason to why a mother could commit such a heinous act. It doesn’t excuse her from punishment or accountability. Whether the was suffering psychosis or not, these cases should be wake up calls. For friends and family who are right there to observe behavior and psychiatrists. No psychiatrist should ever look at a mother that is coming into their care with small children for depression and suicide ideations the same. Ever. They should consult with their colleagues on their care, take their time giving them the right assessments, work their ass off to do all they can. It’s their fucking job. Don’t take perinatal patients if you can’t handle it. They aren’t easy.

A psychiatrist's work ends where patient autonomy begins. No one can force another person to take medication and attend therapy. If a patient is non-compliant, or takes meds incorrectly, or refuses various forms of therapy, there is nothing a psychistrist can do, except continue to urge the patient to comply.
Reason matters a lot. For MA court, knowing the reason is not a good thing if it lightens her sentence. In other ways, knowing the reason is a good thing. It doesn’t change the past, but it could change the future.
It also doesn’t stop for a psychiatrist there. They need to rule out that there’s not some other reason the patient is being noncompliant. They can do that. Like anything else, though you have some people who are better at their job jobs and others.

Clancy was one of his first patients and he never had a perinatal patient despite his online profile saying he has 2 years experience. 🙄 His 17 minute video chat sessions weren’t enough to assess Clancy. He administered a self standard postnatal depression scale, clinical cut off is 13, max is 30, Clancy scored a 23. She said yes to 23 out of 30 and his diagnosis was generalized anxiety disorder. He said he saw no signs of psychosis but only was with Clancy for 17 minutes then upped her medication, sent her off, and then she murdered her children. That’s why Patrick is suing and you twats act like these professionals don’t have any reason to get on these stands and cover their fucking asses. And since she’s white she just had all this access and help and bla bla bla. Dumb asses. DUMB. She didn’t look into clancys history at all, only talked to Clancy and her husband. She said she never worked a case of postpartum psychosis but discharged Clancy days later because she was able to rule out psychosis. !!?!? Lol she didn’t look up any of her medications either and just believed everything Clancy told her. you never take your patients word as your only evidence, they will minimize their symptoms to get out of the psychiatric facility. Durrrr. There is clear evidence she was mishandled and it wasn’t Clancy that was failed, it was her kids. So many want to believe in the system but then they argue racism of the system. lol if the system is fallible enough to be racist, it’s fallible enough to let people suffering with psychosis fall through the cracks. It is reported already that it goes under diagnosed and women who suffer with it have little support and resources. It already has been discussed that it needs to be added to the DSM as a distinct diagnoses to IMPROVE TRAINING and attention!!!!! So there is EVIDENCE here that Lindsey’s case is a systemic issue!!! …………… But nahhhhh, racism bruh. Tufts telling LC that her fearing she is having thoughts of hurting herself doesn’t mean that you’re actually having thoughts of hurting yourself, is really something. Then just gave her therapy which was just validation. Tuft also saying that it doesn’t matter if it was in person there is nothing to gain. Hmmm. Restlessness in the lower body, tremors, hygiene, psychomotor agitation, akathesia, just to name a few. Oh yea, tufts said LC had pressured speech. That’s a symptom of mania or hypomania. Tufts couldn’t handle LC. Sorry she’s having to do this and I don’t think she intended this to happen or is a bad person but LC needed experienced psychiatrists. LC was difficult and it probably was because she was in a severe mental health crisis. I actually don’t think there could have been anyone within LCs reach that could have handled her case. For that, I don’t think any provider should be held accountable. We will see though as the case unfolds.

I think it's more complicated than just believing women no matter what. In the last ten years or so there has been this weird movement to empathize with the "bad guys". Thieves are just poor and hungry and trying to feed their families; addicts have a "disease"; rapists and pedophiles are victims of childhood sexual abuse, and so on. Even entertainment is doing that, making movies and TV shows around villains and painting them as victims of their circumstances, forcing audiences to empathize and see them as victims and excuse their terrible behavior. All this toxic empathy bullshit has rotted these idiots' brains.

They should consult with their colleagues on their care, take their time giving them the right assessments, work their ass off to do all they can. It’s their fucking job. If a patient is non-compliant, or takes meds incorrectly, or refuses various forms of therapy, there is nothing a psychistrist can do, except continue to urge the patient to comply.
Reason matters a lot. For MA court, knowing the reason is not a good thing if it lightens her sentence. In other ways, knowing the reason is a good thing. It doesn’t change the past, but it could change the future.
DeleteIt also doesn’t stop for a psychiatrist there. They need to rule out that there’s not some other reason the patient is being noncompliant. They can do that. Like anything else, though you have some people who are better at their job jobs and others.
